Builds cultural and educational connections and supports language, learning and cultural exchange.

The British Council supports cultural relations, education, language learning and international cultural exchange within the functions allocated to it by United Hampshire.

Its programmes are public-service and cultural activities. They do not create diplomatic status, nationality, immigration permission or foreign-affairs authority, which remain with the competent United Hampshire institutions.
